Portside

Portside is the largest Alkali-activated concrete structure in the world.

• The first building in South Africa using up to 85% cement replacement with slag.
• The pumping was conducted in single-stage pumping up to 156m high from the batch-plant across the road, the concrete pipeline was constructed under the road.
• Significant savings in cost while achieving very high durability coefficients for chloride and oxygen permeability indexes.
